Troubleshooting- content is not publishing

Most publishing failures are one of five things. Check them in this order.

Start here: work through these in order

Most publishing failures are one of five things. Check them in this order.

1. Is the post actually ready?

A post only publishes when it is finished and cleared to go.

  • "Preparing image" means the image is still being made. No Publish button appears until it is done. This is expected.
  • "Needs editing" means it is waiting for a human look.
  • If Autopilot is in review mode, the batch is waiting for your approval in Autopilot Review.
  • If a Client review link was sent, it is waiting for the client.

2. Is there a publish date?

No publish date means it will never publish on its own. Check the calendar.

3. Are your AI credits exhausted?

If a post never finished generating, it cannot publish. An exhausted credit balance stops generation immediately. Check Billing & Credits.

4. Is the destination connected?

Check Social & Channels and Website Integration for reconnect prompts. An expired token is the single most common cause of a channel silently failing.

5. Is the timezone right?

If posts go out but at odd hours, that is a timezone setting, not a failure. Set the Business timezone in the Brand Profile. Without it, times are treated as UTC.

What specific errors mean

"Connect and verify WordPress before publishing to your site."

The WordPress connection was never completed or never passed verification. Retrying will not help- the connection has to be fixed. website integration.

"Reconnect [platform] under Social..."

That social platform revoked or expired access. Go to Social & Channels and reconnect it.

"Your AI credits are used up. Top up in Billing before generating new content."

Self-explanatory. Top up from Billing & Credits.

"Your team's AI credits are used up. Ask your workspace admin to top up..."

You are on a team and the organisation's balance is empty. The account holder needs to top up.

"Credits depleted"

Same as above, worded by the platform (X uses this phrasing).

"The requested entity was not found" / "Google Business location is no longer accessible" The Google Business Profile location the post targets is no longer reachable from your Google account. It may have been moved, re-verified, suspended, or removed. Check the listing in Google Business Profile itself, then reconnect.

"API key is missing or invalid"

Only relevant if you supplied your own AI provider keys in Account Settings. Fix or remove the key.

"The AI service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again in a moment."

A genuine transient problem. This one retries by itself.

Transient vs permanent failures

NexoFlow distinguishes between the two, and this affects what you should do.

TRANSIENT (retries automatically) Temporary AI or network problems. NexoFlow retries several times and then tries again later. You usually do not need to do anything.

PERMANENT (does NOT keep retrying) Anything that needs YOU to change something: connect WordPress, reconnect a social account, top up credits, fix a Google location. NexoFlow deliberately stops retrying these, because a retry tomorrow with nothing changed would fail identically.

Once you fix the underlying cause, publish the post again.

"Published with issue"

This means the post went out, but at least one targeted channel failed- for example the blog post published fine but Instagram did not.

Open the post to see which channel failed and why, fix that channel, and re-publish to it.

Common questions

My post says scheduled but never published.

Work through the five checks at the top. In practice it is almost always a post that was not finished, a channel that needs reconnecting, or an empty credit balance.

Do I need to be logged in for scheduled posts to publish?

No.

A post failed. Will it try again?

If the failure was transient, yes, automatically. If it was a configuration problem- a disconnected channel, no credits, unverified WordPress- it will not keep retrying. Fix the cause and publish again.

It published to Facebook but not Instagram.

A per-channel failure. Instagram in particular requires a Professional account linked to a Facebook Page, and requires an image on every post. social channels.

Everything stopped publishing at once.

Check the credit balance and the subscription status first- both stop everything across all projects at once.
