Social channels- connecting and publishing
Social & Channels is where you connect the business's social accounts and control which ones NexoFlow publishes to.
What it is
Social & Channels is where you connect the business's social accounts and control which ones NexoFlow publishes to.
Once connected, any post you create can be sent to those channels automatically- with a caption written specifically for each network rather than the same text copied everywhere.
Where to find it
Sidebar > Content > Social & Channels
Supported platforms
Facebook Instagram LinkedIn X (Twitter) TikTok Pinterest YouTube Google Business Profile (google business profile)
Connecting an account
Each platform connects by signing in to that platform and approving NexoFlow. You are taken to the platform's own login screen; NexoFlow never sees or stores your social passwords.
Account type requirements
X (Twitter) Standard account.
- Facebook- You must connect a Facebook PAGE, not a personal profile, and you must be an admin of that Page.
- Instagram- Must be a Professional account (Business or Creator) and linked to a Facebook Page. Personal Instagram accounts cannot be published to by any third-party tool.
- LinkedIn- Can be a personal profile or a Company Page you administer.
- TikTok- Business account.
- Pinterest- Business account.
- YouTube- A channel you own or manage.
One account per platform per project. If you manage two Facebook Pages for the same business, connect the primary one; separate businesses belong in separate projects.
Turning a channel on or off
Each connected channel has an on/off switch. Turning it off keeps the connection but stops publishing to it. Useful for pausing a channel without having to reconnect it later.
How captions are written per platform
NexoFlow does not paste identical text to every network. It knows how each one behaves and writes accordingly.
| Platform | Max length | Typical best length | Links in caption | Needs media |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 63,206 | 400- 1,200 | Yes, clickable | No | |
| 2,200 | 125- 400 | No, not clickable | Image required | |
| X (Twitter) | 280 | 71- 200 | Yes, clickable | No |
| 3,000 | 1,000- 1,900 | Yes, clickable | No | |
| 500 | 100- 400 | Link is the pin's destination | Image required | |
| TikTok | 2,200 | 80- 300 | No | Video required |
| YouTube | 5,000 | 200- 1,000 | Yes, in description | Video required |
| Google Business Profile | 1,500 | 700- 1,300 | Uses a button, not a URL in the text | No |
What this means in practice
- An Instagram caption will not contain a raw link, because links are not clickable there.
- An X post is written short, and accounts for the fact that a URL uses about 23 characters of the 280 limit.
- A LinkedIn post is written long-form; a Facebook post is written mid-length.
- Google Business Profile posts use a native call-to-action button rather than pasting a URL into the text.
- Instagram and Pinterest posts always need an image. TikTok and YouTube need a video.
You can always override the generated caption per platform before publishing.
When a connection breaks
Social platforms expire access periodically, and they also revoke it if the password changes, the account owner removes the app, or the account is switched between personal and business types.
When this happens NexoFlow marks the channel as needing reconnection, shows a Reconnect prompt on the Social & Channels page, and emails you so you find out before a week of posts silently fails.
Fixing it is always the same: click Reconnect and sign in to the platform again.
Common reasons a connection dies
- The platform's normal token expiry (Meta tokens are especially short-lived)
- The account password was changed
- NexoFlow was removed from the account's connected apps
- Instagram was switched back from Professional to Personal
- Admin rights on the Facebook Page were removed
- The Page or account was deactivated
Common questions
I can't connect my Instagram account.
Instagram must be a Professional account (Business or Creator) AND linked to a Facebook Page. Convert it in the Instagram app under Settings > Account type, link it to a Page, then try again.
Can I connect my personal Facebook profile?
No. Facebook only allows third-party publishing to Pages. Connect the business Page you administer.
Why does it say my channel needs reconnecting?
The platform expired or revoked access. This is normal and happens periodically. Click Reconnect and sign in again.
Will the same text be posted to every network?
No. Each network gets a caption written for its own length and link rules. You can also edit any platform's caption individually before it goes out.
Can I post to Instagram without an image?
No. Instagram requires an image or video. NexoFlow will attach the post's image automatically.
Can I connect two Facebook Pages to one project?
One account per platform per project. Use a separate project for a separate business.
How do I stop posting to one channel without disconnecting it?
Use the on/off switch next to the channel.
Troubleshooting
SYMPTOM: Connection succeeds, then immediately shows "needs reconnect"
Usually the account type is wrong (personal instead of business), or the required admin permission was not granted during the sign-in flow. Reconnect and make sure you approve every permission the platform asks for.
SYMPTOM: Instagram connects but posts fail
Confirm the account is Professional and linked to a Facebook Page you administer, and that the post has an image.
SYMPTOM: X posts fail
X limits how much third-party apps may post depending on the account's API access level. If posts fail consistently on X only, this is the usual cause.
SYMPTOM: Nothing publishes anywhere
troubleshooting publishing- the cause is usually the post itself (not approved, no publish date) rather than the channels.
